November 22, 2024: Buchanan Street Partners, a real estate investment management firm, is converting a former medical-office building in Upland, California, to self-storage. The company acquired the 2-acre property at 1382 E. Foothill Blvd. for $6.2 million. Plans call for 123,000 square feet of storage in 1,180 climate-controlled units. The project is scheduled to be complete by January 2026. San Juan Capistrano, California-based DAI General Contracting, which specializes in self-storage building, is the general contractor. Newport Beach, California-based Buchanan intends to develop a $500 million self-storage portfolio throughout the Western United States.
