June 6, 2023: The cofounder and chief investment officer for Spartan Investment Group, a privately held real estate firm that specializes in self-storage and operates the FreeUp Storage brand, is co-hosting a new podcast designed to help professional airline pilots build passive income and generational wealth. Ryan Gibson is joined in the endeavor by Tait Duryea, CEO of private-equity investment firm Turbine Capital, to produce “Passive Income Pilots Podcast.
Duryea and Gibson, who have both been pilots for commercial airlines in addition to being business owners and investors, will interview investing experts to share practical knowledge on real estate, tax strategy, investment tips and best practices, the release stated.
“Tait and I have a unique understanding of the passive-income strategies that have worked wonders for our own financial goals as pilots, and we feel that we have a lot of knowledge to offer other pilots by launching this podcast,” Gibson said. “The ‘Passive Income Pilots Podcast’ is our way of sharing the collective 35 years of experience to assist other professional pilots in achieving true financial independence in a way that works for their unique lifestyle and financial situation.”
The podcast co-hosts have already recorded more than 20 episodes. Special guests have included Guy Adami from CNBC’s “Fast Money”; Jesse Reed, a former fighter pilot who’s now a wealth manager for Creative Planning LLC; and Toby Mathis, an attorney, author and partner at Anderson Business Advisors. The show is available on Apple Podcasts and other major platforms.
Founded in 2014 and based in Golden, Colorado, Spartan operates more than 65 self-storage facilities. During his time with the company, Gibson has organized more than $250 million of private equity for industry projects.
Turbine specializes in helping pilots create passive income through cash-flowing commercial real estate.
