U-Haul purchases former shopping center in Dayton, OH to convert into self-storage facility
The shopping center had Dick’s Sporting Goods and an H.H. Gregg Inc. appliance store

April 8, 2015- U-Haul has bought the property which is spread across 9-acres and 87,000 square foot building. It is located at 234 and 240 N. Springboro Pike. The company purchased it for $3.4 million.

The U-Haul project “represents an opportunity to fill a rather large building with a strong company that will be a good steward of the site,” according to Chris Fine, economic development director for Miamisburg, Ohio.

The transaction was completed on April 2. U-Haul has opened a truck-and-trailer rental office. The conversion project will take about a year to complete according to company official. The self-storage facility will have non climate controlled units, some free standing storage.  The facility in Dayton, OH will also have moving and storage rentals.

U-Haul was established in 1945 and has over 40 million square feet of storage space.
