The moving and self-storage company purchases Storage of Stockyards District
February 18, 2015- U-Haul Company has bought a storage facility near downtown Toronto and is currently renting trucks and trailers as well as selling moving supplies. The building is located at 355 Weston Road in Toronto.
The three story brick building is spread across 95,280 square feet of building space and includes a lower-level basement. U-Haul plans to add climate controlled self-storage and storage for U-Box moving and self-storage containers.
"We are thrilled to be able to provide exceptional customer service to those in the community… and in a location closer to the downtown area," stated Antony Grocott, marketing company president of U-Haul Company of Eastern Ontario. "U-Haul Moving and Storage of Stockyards District will become a one-stop shop for our customers moving and self-storage needs in the Toronto area."
The Stockyards District is the northwestern quadrant of "The Junction" neighborhood, named for the junction of four railway lines in the area. It was a manufacturing community that specialized in meat processing, furniture assembly and millwork in the 19th century.
U-Haul has acquired the vacant building as it supports infill development to help local communities lower their carbon footprint.
