January 13, 2015- Pearl Street Commercial LLC is looking forward to renovate the former Alexander Lumber facility at 201 S. Virginia Road and change it into a mini-warehousing and self-storage facility.
The signs are well beyond the 6-foot and 32-square-feet maximums and had been requested to draw in consumers from Virginia Road and Rakow Road, Planning and Economic Development Manager James Richter said, adding that the petitioners argued that self-storage is more of a retail-oriented product and should be allowed to have retail-type signage.
Pearl Street Commercial LLC is willing to keep existing warehouse building and add new units. The company plans to work on vehicle storage as per commission documents.
The self-storage will be renovated to have warehouse spaces spread across 24,000 square feet. The facility will have climate controlled unit along with vehicle storage. The first phase of the project will have nine mini warehouse buildings which will not be climate controlled.
