The Lock Up Self Storage has proposed to develop storage facility in Warehouse District of Minneapolis
The property is spread across 99,900-square-foot area

December 9, 2014- The Lock Up Self Storage has proposed to develop at 701 N. Seventh St. The area is known as North Loop and has become a trendy spot for lofts, restaurants and retail boutiques. Lock Up Self Storage wants to develop in the area because of its high visibility and traffic volume.

City officials are awaiting a formal application but have already voiced concerns about the facility’s design, objecting to a shortage of windows and “blocky design,” according to the source. Industrial developments proposed for the North Loop are likely to receive resistance from city officials due to the region’s transformation from a warehouse district to a thriving residential and commercial corridor, the source reported.

The Lock Up Self Storage is operated by family-owned Lock Up Development Group, an affiliate of BRB Development LLC. The company has been offering self-storage services since 1976. It currently owns self-storage facilities in eight states and has five locations in the Twin Cities.
