Atlantic operates more than 50 self-storage locations in Northeast Florida
May 21, 2020: Atlantic Self Storage and the Beach Boulevard Flea Market of Jacksonville, Florida are partnering with Farm Share to feed Florida residents in need during the coronavirus pandemic. Atlantic Self Storage became involved in the charity program after noticing some of its customers were struggling to pay rent on their storage units.
The businesses have co-hosted a drive-through distribution at the Beach Boulevard Flea Market located at 11041 Beach Blvd., which is adjacent to the storage facility, every Wednesday for the past five weeks. The weekly program will distribute fresh food boxes to approximately 450 people every week. Donations include milk, eggs, vegetables and fruits, along with non-perishables. Employees of both the companies will organize the food distribution.
People interested in receiving food donations must register on the Farm Share website. The first 450 people are assigned a time to visit and pick up their box.
Farm Share established in 1991, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that partners with more than 2,000 food pantries, churches, schools and other organizations in Florida to distribute food. Last year, it provided more than 88 million pounds of food to more than 17.5 million households.
