Storage Giant operates nine self-storage facilities in the United Kingdom
October 14, 2019: Storage Giant founded in 2007 and based in Newport, Wales, will complete three of its expansion projects by the end of the year. The company will open the second face of expansion in Cannock and Telford, England facilities. The third phase that’ll add 10,000 square feet to its Swansea, Wales, location.
“The expansion of the Swansea site is being carried out, in part, to accommodate the growing influx of student numbers in the city. More than 5 percent of Storage Giant’s turnover during the summer months now comes from the student market in Swansea. In addition, Storage Giant is looking for a second freehold building or site near Swansea [that] can be developed with state-of-the-art storage facilities to meet further demand.” Said by company founder Simon Williams.
Storage Giant almost completed a mixed-use project in Bristol, England, and plans to expand its facility in Newport, Wales, next year.
“Storage Giant is going through a very exciting period of growth, mostly through development of its own stores, but also sometimes via carefully selected acquisitions. We have acquired various self-storage businesses over the last few years, but we prefer to develop our own stores, as we learn so much from each one [that] we develop.” Williams said.
