January 8, 2019: Compass Self Storage is a part of the Amsdell family of companies headquartered in Cleveland. The company is offering rent postponement to tenants affected by the partial government shutdown. The deferment is available to government workers whose pay has been suspended for as long as the shutdown is in effect. The company won’t charge late payment as a part of special program.
The partial shutdown affects about 800,000 employees in the nine federal cabinet departments as well as smaller agencies whose funding has lapsed. Approximately 380,000 workers have been furloughed without pay. The remaining employees are working without pay until the shutdown ends.
Compass is part of the Amsdell family of companies. It has owned and operated more than 500 storage centers under various trade names in more than 27 states.
"We are sympathetic to the difficult situation many government workers and their families are in, and we want to do our small part to help," said Todd Amsdell, president
