U-Haul announces the conversion of vacant building in Fargo, ND, to self-storage facility
Established in 1945, U-Haul owns over 44 million square feet of storage space

April 17, 2017: Phoenix-based U-Haul International Inc., which manages over 1,300 self-storage locations across North America, is converting a former Sportsman's Warehouse in Fargo, ND., to self-storage facility under the name U-Haul Moving & Storage of West Acres.
The company expects to hire 15 or more employees once the facility is fully operational, said Shawn Odden, president of the U-Haul Co. of Fargo. “U-Haul is excited to renovate this property and bring a facelift to the area,” he added. "We have been underserving West Fargo. Now that we have a centrally located facility, we can reduce the length of travel for our customers.”

According to the source, the property opened with a temporary showroom on February 20 that currently offers moving and packing supplies, trailer and truck rentals, towing equipment, and U-Box portable-storage containers.

The source reported that, the deteriorating building had been vacant for more than five years prior to U-Haul’s acquisition.  Renovations are underway on the 4.8-acre site to add 800 indoor, climate-controlled units. Hitch installation and propane sales will also be available.
